For humans, Halloween is one of the most exciting nights of the year, however it’s not always the case for our furry family members. Before you start getting your costume ready and hitting the streets, think about how you can keep your pets safe and comfortable by following the Halloween safety tips listed below.
1. Keep your dog well-exercised
Before the evening commences and the streets get busy, take your dog for an afternoon walk or run around the neighbourhood. This is a great way to burn some of your dog’s energy and ensure they're settled and calm before the trick-or-treaters start knocking. 2. Keep your pet securely locked inside
With loud children and families on the footpaths and in the street, we recommend keeping your pets safely inside throughout the late afternoon and evening. Excited children, fireworks and loud noises can become quite stressful for your pet, even for the most relaxed dog. Also, if you're often opening the door to trick-or-treaters, make sure your pets are kept in a secure part of the home to prevent them escaping through the front door.
