🖤 Today, we’re talking Border Collies!

🖤 This dog is recognised as one the smartest dog breeds, no surprises there! If you’ve got a Collie, you’ll certainly be aware of their intelligence, high energy levels and strong work ethic, which has made them the perfect herding dog for more than a century.

🐑 The Collie was originally bred to herd sheep, using their famous ‘deep stare’ to intimidate the flock into moving. Nowadays, you can also find them herding cattle, geese and sometimes children 😉

🤓 Here’s a fun fact! A Collie named Chaser, is regarded as the world’s smartest dog as she’s know the names of more than 1000 objects. Crazy! 🤯

🐾 If you have a Border Collie, it’s important to always keep them stimulated. Without proper training from a young age and ‘tasks’ to keep them stimulated, they may resort to barking, nipping and nudging, as they would as a working dog when herding a flock of sheep. Agility courses, fly ball and tracking are some great activities to keep them active!
