Happy Hounds at Portside Paws: Brisbanes Biggest Puppy Party

What better way to spend a Saturday morning than walking along the Brisbane River surrounded by a whole lot of very happy dogs?

On Saturday 29 August, Happy Hounds was delighted to be part of Portside Paws: Brisbane’s Biggest Puppy Party, hosted by Portside Wharf in Hamilton to celebrate National Dog Day.

Leading the Portside Paws Community Walk

The morning kicked off bright and early at 8am with the Portside Paws community dog walk, and the Happy Hounds team had the pleasure of leading the group along the Brisbane River.

Starting from Portside Wharf, dogs and their humans headed out together for a relaxed waterfront walk before making their way back to the precinct for the morning’s festivities.

For us, it was a lovely opportunity to do something we know very well, get dogs out walking, exploring and enjoying their surroundings, while meeting plenty of Brisbane pups and their people along the way.

Brisbane’s Biggest Puppy Party

Once everyone returned from the walk, the celebrations continued with a puppy party at Portside Wharf from 9am to 11am.

There was plenty happening for both two-legged and four-legged visitors, including live music, a giant ball-filled puppy play area and a Paw-ffee Cart serving coffees for the humans and pup lattes for the dogs.

Getting Out Into Our Dog-Loving Community

While most of our days are spent caring for dogs individually through our regular dog walking and pet care services, events like Portside Paws give us the chance to connect with the wider community of people who love their pets just as much as we do.

We loved seeing so many dogs of different breeds, sizes and personalities enjoying the morning together, and it was wonderful to meet some of the people behind the leads too.

A huge thank you to Portside Wharf for inviting Happy Hounds to be involved and to everyone who joined us for the walk and stopped by during the morning.

We had a fantastic time helping kick off Brisbane’s Biggest Puppy Party, and judging by the wagging tails around Portside Wharf, the dogs did too.

Stay tuned for our next doggy event !
